Jaguar XK8 4.2 S Coupe – Last Edition – 2005/55
The XK8 4.2-S special edition or commonly referred to as last edition model was unveiled on March 1st 2005 at the Geneva International Salon
This car was among the last XK100 models to be produced by Jaguar Cars at its Browns Lane Plant in Coventry in 2005.
We understand that just 187 examples of the 4.2S Coupes were made right at the end of the model run. *
The AJ-34 4.2 Litre 300 BHP V8 Engine and 6 Speed ZF Auto Transmission Gearbox remain from the 2002 upgrade.
Finished in Bay Blue which was one of four special exterior colours available on the 4.2-S
Inside the Interior is unique to the 4.2-S model trimmed with soft grain Ivory leather with contrasting black stitching. (Only ‘S’ model came with straight stitching on the seats rather than the curved finish on the standard cars, so something to look out for!) The Elm veneer was newly introduced for the 4.2-S and it has black carpet with leather trimmed and embossed floor mats
In recognition of Jaguar’s racing heritage, special badging and accents adorn the 4.2-S. Polished door treadplates featuring chequered flag emblems, revised white Jaguar Growler badge on the nose also features new chequered flag accents on the sides of the emblem and there is a 4.2-S Badge at the rear.
The 4.2-S 2006MY package has an increased level of specification over the previous year and features many premium options as standard equipment including-
Electrically Adjustable and Heated Seats
Heated Front Windscreen with Auto Rain Sensor Wipers
Power Folding Mirrors
Premium Alpine Sound System with 6 CD Changer
Power Wash Headlamps
The highly desirable BBS 20” Sepang split rim alloy wheels were a further specified option when new along with the Brembo Performance R braking package with cross drilled discs.
In addition there is an XKR Mesh Grille and Polished Aluminium Pedal Set.
The original rear exhaust silencers have been replaced with a stainless steel system finished with a pair of bespoke twin outlet tailpipes.
So a rare and sought after car that, looking back in Jaguar model history would lead you to think it is certainly a model that could increase in value. (They say you should buy the very first or the very last of any model, especially if low production numbers enter into the equation.)
Of the cars that remain, we would very much doubt that many could rival this one for condition and beauty.
Take a moment to look through the 30 high-res photos, zoom in and you’ll see that this car is blemish free. The wheels and chrome bands are pristine/unmarked. The Bay Blue paintwork is swirl free and feels like silk.
The interior is again in exceptional condition; the leather shows no signs of wear, no marks on the leather or even on the stitching. If The Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon needed one of these for a display item, this car could comfortably take on the role.

You will not be disappointed with this pristine example, this includes the underside that is well known to rust out on many examples.
We are able to discuss both part exchange and finance options (Subject to status and terms and conditions that you can see on our website).
*We have spotted several cars being advertised that have claims to be examples of the 4.2S, quite a few are not genuine examples.
